George Davida, a long-time contributor to the computer security community, passed away in August 2024. He was a respected researcher and educator whose work helped shape the early foundations of modern cybersecurity. Dr. Davida was one of the originators of the IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy and played a significant role in establishing it as a premier venue for security research. He also participated in the early years of the Annual Computer Security Applications Conference, including presenting a paper at ACSAC in 1988.
